1881 Event Planning & Design
is a
social
event
planning
company
based
in
Atlanta,
Georgia.
This
company
was
started
by
three
phenomenal
women
who
bring
over
15
years
of
event
planning
expertise
to
their clients.
As
graduates
of
Spelman
College,
the
ladies
of
1881
wanted
to
pay
tribute
to
the
institution,
which
brought
them
together.
The
name
of
the
company
lovingly
reflects
the
founding
year
of
their
beloved
alma
mater.
For
Pamela,
Ericka,
and
Renata
nothing
is more
important
than
flawless
execution
of
their
client’s
vision.
Finding
an
event
planner
to
truly
do
it
all
is
a
challenge
but
1881
Events
solves
this
problem
by
equipping
each
client
with
a
team
that
will
handle
all
of
the
details,
customize
the
event
with
unique
graphic
designs,
and
evoke
an
experience
guests
will
never
forget.
Although
their
planning
experience
has
crossed
the
gamut,
the
primary
focus
of
1881 Event Planning & Design
is
on
small
social
events
of
75
guests
or
less.
Each
of
these
ladies
has
unique
strengths
which—when
combine—makes
them
a
dream
team
of
event
planners. Pamela
Franklin
Stegall
is
a
native
of
Atlanta.
She
holds
a
Bachelors
degree
in
Theatre
from
Spelman
College
and
has
extensive
experience
in
backstage
management.
She
is
often
asked
to
manage
the
backstage
events
for
high
profile
theater
productions
and
was
most
recently
asked
to
assist
with
the
tribute
to
the
unveiling
of
the
Martin
Luther
King,
Jr.
national
monument,
entitled
“A
Monumental
Life,”
at
Constitution
Hall
in
Washington
D.C.
In
April
2010,
she
added
filmmaker
to
her
list
of
accomplishments
in
her
production
of
the
documentary
Fly, Sista, Fly,
which
chronicled
the
lives
of
three
Pauline
E.
Drake
Scholars—“seasoned
women”
who
chos e
to
attend
Spelman
College.
Pamela
believes
that
all
events
are
just
productions
in
disguise.
She
designs
events
the
same
way
a
Broadway
producer
approaches
a
theatrical
production—making
sure
that
the
stars
shine
and
the
guests
are
glad
they
came!
Ericka
A.
Thomas
is
a
native
of
Atlanta.
She
holds
a
Bachelors
degree
in
Environmental
Science
from
Spelman
College
and
a
Masters
of
Business
Administration
degree
from
the
University
of
Phoenix.
She
absolutely
loves
every
aspect
of
planning
an
event.
Ericka
has
a
passion
for
graphic
design
and
is
able
to
quickly
conceptualize
a
theme
and
use
creative
elements
to
generate
visual
presentations
for
our
events.
Her
easy‐going
personality,
meticulous
attention
to
detail,
and
amazing
budget
management
skills
prove
to
be
a
valuable
asset
to
the
1881
Event
Planning
&
Design
Dream
Team.
Renata
Hilson
is
a
native
of
New
Orleans
but
has
called
Atlanta
home
for
quite
some
time.
She
holds
a
Bachelors
degree
in
Psychology
from
Spelman
College
and
a
Master
of
Public
Health
degree
from
Emory
University.
Her
passion
for
event
planning
began
during
graduate
school,
where
she
was
enrolled
full‐time,
had
several
part
time
jobs,
and
pulled
all‐nighters
planning
her
own
wedding!
If
hiring
an
event
planner
were
in
her
budget
at
the
time,
she
would
have
gladly
done
so.
This
is
why
she
is
so
happy
to
be
part
of
an
event
planning
company
that
caters
to
a
wide
range
of
budgets
and
client
needs
Renata
is
the
“research
detective”
for
all
of
our
events.
Her
logistical
skills,
creativity,
and
fun
personality
make
her
an
extraordinary
member
of
their
team.Their
motto
“Relax…and
let
us
handle
the
details!”
says
it
all.
From
innovative
concepts
to
flawless
execution,
their
goal
is
to
take
the
stress
out
of
planning
so
their
clients
can
enjoy
every
moment
of
their
special
occasion.
